Debrah’s entry into the real estate investment market came about as a result of her Mother insisting she was paying someone else’s mortgage by renting and she needed to buy a house now! Thirty-eight years later she is still investing in real estate using the initial profit garnered from the condominium purchased for $39K and resold for $99K. Deb contributes the increase in equity to owning a great product that appealed to a wide range of buyers. While preparing that property and the others that followed for resale the positive experience and increased profits launched her into a new career of interior design, home staging and flipping houses (terms not used back then!).

In 1995 Deb founded DB Interiors after a successful career in managing and marketing commercial trade show programs for Corel, Fulcrum, JetForm and OmniMark. Today the business is the perfect complement to her real estate investments as she combines her knowledge and technical expertise she acquired through osmosis of watching her husband Rene, an architectural technologist and designer select, evaluate and determine the products and budget used to increase the property values. When the real estate market was ready for home staging and color consulting, Deb was educated and ready to work with real estate agents and homeowners helping them increase the equity in their real estate investments. In 2004 in her quest for more education and personal development she returned to school to qualify as a Certified Instructor for color consulting, and home staging. She is one of the first graduates to receive her designation as a Certified Instructor for the Green Build Science program offered throughout Canada.

Today, as a Licensed Life Agent she mentors clients helping them understand How Money Works and the valued lesson of paying themselves first to ensure they can reach their financial goals and dreams whether it’s to own more properties or just retire with dignity. Debrah is honoured to serve the OREIO members in her role as President for the year 2011 – 2012.
